This Is Not An iPad With A Phone App
Once upon a time, there was an iPhone, and an iPhone without the phone app. We call the latter iPod touch.
Then that iPhone without the phone app became much bigger, and Apple called it an iPad. A lot of people call it just a big iPhone.
Then Apple forked iOS into iPadOS, and iPad started to be less of a big iPhone, with funky stuff like stage manager and traffic lights and whatnots. And I thought iPhone is with smaller screens, and iPad is with bigger screens.
Then Apple released iPhone Duo, and everything changes again. Now, we have an iPhone with a bigger screen that is not an iPad. Things are different on the screens, and an iPhone app in a big screen does not look like, nor behave like, an iPad app.
Of course, Apple is not going to tell us what the future iOS and iPadOS will look like. Will they converge? Will they evolve to be totally different? What is the difference with an iPhone with a big screen and an iPad with a big screen?
For now, enjoy all the unboxing videos and screenshots and… if you are rich enough and fast enough, your new iPhone Duo.
