The Age of Sky High Memory Prices

MacBook Neo uses iPhone chips instead of the regular M series chips, so as to lower the price. And now there are rumors Apple is considering screen-less wearables for your wrists (or fingers) that brings Health and Fitness ecosystem to those who don't want a watch from Apple, but presumably can also sell at a lower cost than the regular Apple Watches.

Of course, all these plans to capture customers that are more price-sensitive may be hindered by the sky high costs of memory chips. Apple has always prided itself for making the memory requirements of its operating systems small, but can it continue to do so in the age of AI? Will Apple also start really optimizing for smaller storage footprint also? How many of us has looked at the Storage screen in the Settings apps and wondered, why is the operating system taking up so much space?
